Ripple International Signs Agreement with Ön Federal Bank “, Leading Indian Bank to Speed Up Coins

Federal Bank, India's leading private sector bank, said it is partnering with Ripple to implement technology to improve cross-border payment services.

The Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) bulletin noted how the bank wanted to use technology to accelerate cross-border money transfers:

The Ripple platform makes cross-border transactions safer and faster. This partnership will help Federal Bank to discover new corridors where Ripple is aggressively pursuing new partnerships. Today, Federal Bank MD CEO Mr. Shyam Srinivasan and Senior Vice President Ripple Inc. Mr. John Mitchell have signed agreements for partnership.

 

 

The Federal Bank has approximately 8 million loyal customers. The Bank has also worked on blockchain solutions for remittances as previously stated in the 2017-2018 annual reports.

Shortly after the news, the shares of the Federal Bank increased by 2%.

Federal Bank is not India's first bank to use Ripple's technology. Axis Bank uses Ripple's technology as a real-time international payment service.

Ripple has entered markets all over the world in Asia, Africa, America, Europe and the Middle East. RippleNet, a network of financial institutions using Ripple's technology, now exceeds 200 partners.

The aggressive growth of Ripple may have been that the CEO of SBI Holdings, Yoshitaka Kitao, said he was very impressed by the project and said that many banks in Japan will use the XRP by 2025.
